Frequently asked questions

How does Legit? check a message?

Paste a message, tap “Latest screenshot”, or choose a photo or PDF. The app reads the text on your phone and sends only that text to our server, where it is analysed by AI. You get a green, orange or red verdict, with how confident Legit? is and the warning signs it found.

We don’t store the message text on our server unless you have turned on message sharing. Our Privacy Policy explains how our AI provider handles it.

How many free checks do I get, and what is Legit Pro?

Legit? includes 5 free checks. Legit Pro is a subscription with 200 checks per month. You can subscribe in the app; payment is handled by Apple.

How do I cancel Legit Pro?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Choose Legit Pro and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

See Apple’s guide: Cancel a subscription from Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple too, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I delete my history?

Your history is stored only on your phone. You can delete it, or turn it off, in Settings. Deleting the app removes it as well.

How do I delete messages I shared?

Message sharing is off unless you turn it on. To delete everything your device has shared, tap “Delete shared messages” in Settings, or simply turn sharing off. Shared messages are deleted automatically after 90 days anyway.

How do I ask you to delete my other data?

We don’t know who you are, so your server-side data is linked only to a random device ID. Open Settings → Privacy, tap Copy next to your Device ID, and email it to adamcik.ssimon@gmail.com with your request.

Can I fully trust the verdict?

No tool is perfect. Legit? gives an automated assessment, not a guarantee: it can miss a scam or flag a genuine message.

If a message asks for money, passwords or codes, contact the company or person directly through a channel you already trust, not through the links or numbers in the message.
